Don Pablo's Mexican Restaurant

Don Pablos Restaurant
980 W. 78th St.
Richfield, MN 55423
612-861-9686

Last night, we had dinner at Don Pablo's. It's a nice casual atmosphere with good food and huge margaritas. I don't drink them because everything like that seems to make me fat, but if you wanted a good drink, I'm sure you would enjoy one here.

Dinner prices are $10 to $15 for more food than you should eat in one sitting. It's a national chain with 3 locations in Minnesota and more around the country.

The food is always good. I had the Fajitas and Becky had the Cheese and Onion Enchiladas. Superb.

A restaurant named "the Local"

Becky and I recently attended Doc Severinsen's concert at Orchestra Hall (see my blog about it here). If you need a nice place within walking distance of Orchestra Hall, I highly recommend the Local. The prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is romantic and fun, and the wait staff is attentive and friendly.

I had the Waldorf salad with grilled chicken. It was marvelous, but ask for extra dressing. Actually, I always ask for extra dressing with my salads because you never know if you're getting a couple of teaspoons or an ample amount. I hate using up all the dressing, wishing I had more and then having to wait for the staff to bring more. Just ask for extra. They are always happy to bring extra with a salad order.

Local has a nice area for eating outdoors, but it was windy this day, and we chose to eat inside the restaurant. Besides, I wanted to see it. It really is a beautiful place with lots of real wood and attractive arrangements.

Picosa, where you can salsa dance too

Picosa
65 Main Street SE
Suite 143
Minneapolis, MN 55414

I would love to learn how to salsa dance. I tried to learn how to swing dance once, and gave up. I think the problem is, I'm too busy to dedicate myself to learning something so foreign to me. I think though, salsa dancing is something I want to learn before I'm too old to try.

At 9:00 pm on Saturdays, Picosa gives free salsa dance lessons. Someday, Becky and I will take lessons. Until then, the food is pretty good too.

I had the sea bass and some sort of native nut side item. Both were excellent. Becky had the Marinated Skirt Steak - with fresh pico de gallo, served with black bean torta and roast potatoes.
